Welcome to United Wound Care Centers of Illinois, where John Konopelski, C-APN, DNP, Gladys Odoi, APRN, FNP-BC, MSN, and their team don’t just provide compassionate advanced wound care but also advanced patient care. The care for patients of all ages throughout northern Illinois, with a forthcoming office set to open in the Illinois Valley. 

We care for patients with acute injuries and chronic nonhealing wounds — particularly those that haven’t responded to conventional wound care. We treat an array of ulcers (open wounds) like diabetic ulcers, atypical ulcers, venous ulcers, pressure ulcers, and arterial and ischemic ulcers. We also treat skin tears, wounds caused by lymphedema, mild burns, nonhealing surgical wounds, traumatic wounds, and more.

At United Wound Care Centers of Illinois, our team completes comprehensive assessments and personalized care plans that address underlying medical concerns and potential complications. Our advanced nurse practitioners are available to see patients either in the comfort of their own homes or at our clinic, depending on the patient’s needs. Our compassionate experts offer convenient home-based care in addition to innovative in-office treatments in Kane, Kendall, DuPage, Will, Grundy, LaSalle, DeKalb, Lee, Lake, Boone, and McHenry counties. Treatments include diabetic foot wounds, complex wound care, and much more. We strive to ensure that patients can access the treatments they need regardless of their mobility challenges.

Our advanced nurse practitioners are certified in advanced wound care with extensive portfolios of medical interventions, including but not limited to wound barriers, wound vacs, skin substitutes, debridement, negative pressure wound therapy, and skin substitutes. Our team only considers advanced wound therapy after all conservative care is exhausted. Our team is known for its compassionate bedside manner and putting patients at ease in any setting, whether it be in-home, in-clinic, or in assisted living.
